AnimeNEXT Ahoy?

AnimeNEXT...kinda sounds like an anime convention, huh? Well, it is! It's being held in Somerset, NJ at the Garden State Exhibit Center from June 6-8 next year and hopefully I can go with my friend Katonya!

Now the big question is: am I gonna cosplay?

Answer: hopefully!

I already made a plan of who I want to cosplay as, hopefully I don't change my mind before the convention.

As easy as it is to buy a complete outfit, I would really like to try and make them on my own. The only problem is that I would have to walk ten blocks with a bunch of materials in tow in order to sew these together. ( ;- n -)
If anything, I'll buy Rikku's costume, but make hide's by hand and just buy a tracksuit and modify it for Jan.

There's a slight problem with buying Rikku's costume though...well, maybe more than one.

1. I'm not sure what my budget will be in a few months (I'm hoping to be a couple of months into a job by then), but I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount for her costume.

2. I'm a perfectionist, so the slightest detail that's off isn't gonna cut it.

Wahhh... 

If I can't find a nice looking costume, then I think I'll swap her for Fem! Rei Ryugazaki from Free!. It would be a lot easier and I could save Rikku for when I'm more experienced with sewing and construction. c:

Until I make a little collage for Fem! Rei and Rikku and find out which will be cheaper and easier, then I'm not sure what Friday's outfit will be.

As for hide's outfit, I could just get a suit pattern and find the right fabric for him, modify a regular white blouse and buy some earrings that look similar to his. I already found a wig that's almost the exact style of his hair, I would just need to color it in pink and black!

Jan's shouldn't be too hard either, considering that he's just wearing a regular track suit. I would just need to find a hat and iron on a transfer of the eye and get some gloves and a wig, no biggie! And it would be cool to get some yellow contacts for him...but that's a story for another time.

So that's just a little summary of my cosplay plans for AnimeNEXT, if anyone has any tips or questions, don't be afraid to comment!
